Solemnly respecting Good Friday…wtf?

Today, my family and I went to the public beach (yes, the one administered by the county financed by our tax dollars) and they had a sign up saying “Closed. We are solemnly respecting Good Friday.” This is the same government that is caught cheating, stealing, lying, abusing, ignoring, taking, __ (add your -ing) yet, they are holding this day Holy…whatever happened to the separation of Church and State? How about resting and enjoying the fruits of our labors on this sunny Friday that we are off from work and we can chill on the beach? These are the paradoxes we have to deal and live with, every day.
